I have created an offline messenger in Java using both Files and Database. One can download the zipped file [having jd.java and Data.mdb] from here. To run this Messenger first make a folder devoted to this program. And then keep the .java file and .mdb file in that folder. To run first compile it. Do not forget to select ODBC data source property of your computer to the .mdb file.This can be your college level project for the language Java. The code is here.
